Yesterday, I took my daughter out to buy a new pair of jeans. At the register, the saleswoman took one look at us and said, "Wow, you two have the same face." I looked at my daughter, she looked at me and then the saleswoman said, "That's a good thing...really."
"Thanks for clarifying," I said, and we all laughed. As we walked out the door, my daughter turned to me and said, "Well, I guess you have your blog post for Monday."
Then she said, "That's right, mom. I do read your blog."
Good to know!
In other news, next Monday (Oct. 19) marks the start of "Fat Talk-Free Week." If you're not familiar with this fabulous program by the ladies of Delta Delta Delta sorority, I encourage you to check it out. Watch the video, too; it'll give you chills and it'll make you think twice the next time you're about to say something critical about your body -- especially in front of a young girl.
Finally, if you're in the southern New England area, consider making the trek to Providence, where I'll be speaking on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at a body image panel discussion with Pavitra Ciavardone, Shape magazine life coach and radio host, and Tonya Schwartz, a New York City-based fashion photo retoucher (who I interviewed for my book). The free event, being held at the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island, will also include a book signing with yours truly.
That's all for now...happy Columbus Day!

If I still lived in Massachusetts I'd totally be there.
Have a great time!
BTW, I always feel highly complimented when people tell me I look like my daughter, but I'm not sure she feels the same, lol!
